Antoine DeBarie Holloman, 60, son of the late Elijah Holloman Jr. and Jean Elizabeth Holloman, was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia on January 20, 1959. He transitioned to glory on July 22, 2019.
Antoine was educated in the Virginia Beach Public School System and graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1978. During high school, Antoine was best known for his amazing hurdling skills. He was ranked nationally and was awarded a full, track and field scholarship to East Carolina University. Antoine was employed at Moore’s Lumber & Building Supplies for over a decade.
Antoine was a minister and devoted member of Life Changing Ministry Church in Virginia Beach. He was well versed in theology. Reading the Bible and spreading the gospel were some of his favorite things to do. He knew the power of prayer and utilized it. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me a day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” II Timothy 4:7-8
Antoine was affectionately known as “Toine” by his family and friends and “uncle” by his nieces and nephews. He had strong family beliefs and was very supportive. Antoine made sure his siblings, other relatives, as well as the elders in the neighborhood were all taken care of. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings, Yvonne Fife, Andre Jones (Joyce), Virginia Dozier (Ronnie), Timothy Holloman (Sandra), Askia Sparrow (Joy), Tremaine Holloman (Lisa) and a host of other family and friends. In Uncle’s eyes his nieces & nephews were all his children.
