Evelyn Naomi Larkin, 81, of Chesapeake passed away May 1, 2019, at home surrounded by family.
She was born in Princess Anne County to the late George and Melissa Williams.
Evelyn “Dot” attended public schools in Princess Anne County and graduated from Princess Anne County Training School in 1956. She was a retiree of the US Postal Service in Lawrence, MA. From the union of her first marriage she raised three children Patrice Dotson, Ronald Dotson, and Catrina Battle. Evelyn later married Theodore Larkin and a combined household added three bonus children. While living in Massachusetts, she was a member for 30 years at Rehoboth Lighthouse Full Gospel Church. She served the church and its members on the usher board. She enjoyed spending time with her husband Larkin, as she affectionately called him, being with her grandchildren, going to the beach, traveling, and gardening. She returned to live in Virginia in October 2015.
Evelyn was loved and will be missed by her husband, daughters, family, and friends. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Theodore D Larkin III, daughters, Patrice Dotson and Catrina Battle, her grandchildren, Chase Cruz, Sydney Battle, Courtney Battle, and Avery Battle, her son-in-law Louis Battle, her step-children Brenda Larkin-Washington, Oren Larkin, and David Larkin, siblings James Williams, Alvin Williams, Inez Larry, Doris Broussard, and Adrian Moody. She was predeceased by her son Ronald Dotson, her parents George and Melissa Williams, and her brother Johnson “Jack” Williams.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Evelyn’s “Dot” graveside service 9am, May 10th at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. Visitation 5pm-7pm, May 9th at Beach Funeral & Cremation Services.
