Ilene Virginia Broughon Stanley Ashley

Ilene Virginia Broughon Stanley Ashley, 79, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2019.

Ilene, also known as “Sissy” was born July 27, 1939 to the late Ernest & Ruth Broughon, Sr. in Norfolk, VA.  She was a 1957 graduate of Norview High School and played clarinet in the band.  Ilene was a factory worked for many years, then she became a driver for BCT Printing.  In her last years she worked in food services at Sentara Virginia Beach General before her retirement in 2006.

Ilene was a member of Christ First Community Fellowship Baptist Church in Norfolk. She loved being with her grandkids and great grands, she loved her church family, music, reading her Bible and she loved a good debate.

Besides her parents, Ilene was predeceased by her brothers, Herbert Broughon Sr. and Ernest Broughon Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Byrd, Katherine Collins (Randy), Karlene Douglas, Kammy Ketterman (Danny); sister-in-law, Carol Broughon; grandchildren, Dennis, Katrina, Randi, Craig, Danielle, Suzanne, Melissa, Rosa, Jeremy, Derrick, DeWayne, and Mi-Mi ; great grands, Nicole, Charlie, Stefanie, Cristol, Lely, Ahmed, Aeia, Sincere, Zhiyon, Rudy, Zharia, Dejionte, Donye, Mydejah, Steven, Jaelyln,  Jamia, Rayvin, and LaShyia; nephews, Ernie, Herby; nieces, Lili; great niece, Alyssa and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Christ First Community Fellowship Baptist Church.
