John Michael Newell

John Michael Newell, 48, passed away September 27, 2018. Mike was born in Salisbury, N.C., son of Carolyn Newell of Blountville, TN and the late John R. Newell.

Mike was a mechanical engineer currently serving as the office manager in the Virginia Beach office of Apogee Consulting Group. He was previously employed by PACE Collaborative.
Mike achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 12. He earned the Beecham Laboratories Science Award and was granted a full scholarship to Tennessee Tech University.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sherri Newell and their son John Lloyd Newell of Va. Beach, his sister Melissa Ealey and his nephew Logan Ealey of Gray, TN, and his step mother Bobbie Newell of Kingsport, TN. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 2 at 2 pm at Creeds Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Creeds Church of Christ, 5500 Morris Neck Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23457 or to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527 New York, NY 10163.
