Virginia Lee “Pugg” Joyner was called home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2019. She was born on September 10, 1935 to the late Mr. William Henry and Lillie Nichols. She was raised by John & Virginia Williams.
Virginia attended the Princess Anne County Training School, Princess Anne County, VA. She retired from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after 25 years of services. She was a member of Union Baptist Church where she served as an Usher. Virginia was well known for her homemade rolls for many years. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary E. Parker and Lucy Nichols; brother, William Nichols.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, David W. Joyner, Sr.; one daughter, Clemetine Joyner; one son, David W. Joyner Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Jaunita Nichols, Lucy Simmons and Vivian Willie; two brothers-in-law, Alexander Joyner, Edward Joyner (Edith); special daughter, Rosejean Wright; special sister and brother, Joyce & James Williams; one grandchild, Marqie Joyner; one great grandchild, Dre’Shaun Joyner; one great-great grandchild, Kaiden Joyner “Boo-Boo”; three godchildren, Robert Landly, Glenda Chatma, Bryant Willie and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
