William James Montgomery, Jr.

William James Montgomery Jr., son of the late William James Montgomery Sr. and Wilhemina Shaw Montgomery was born on August 2, 1929 in Sumter, SC.  He departed this life on Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home in Virginia Beach, VA.   He was predeceased by two sisters, Maggie Lewis and Wilhemina Montgomery and three brothers, Willie Lewis Montgomery, Roy Lee Montgomery and Moses Montgomery.

William attended Howard Chapel School in Maysville, SC.  When completed school William was drafted in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War.  After retiring from the military William worked at Santee Printworks in Sumter, SC as a Machinist for 40 years where he retired.    William enjoyed working on his cars as a hobby.

He leaves to cherish his three loving sisters; Rebecca Jenkins of Virginia Beach, VA, Dorothy Mae McCoy of Sumter, SC and Mary Levine of Brooklyn, NY;  one brother-in-law, Johnny Jenkins of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
