Aaron C. Hughes Jr., affectionately known as Cornell, entered eternal rest on Thursday April 16, 2026.
He was the oldest son to the late Aaron C. Hughes, Sr. and Gladys Hamberry Hughes. Cornell was born on October 18, 1956. Cornell graduated from Kellam High School, class of 1975. During his high school years he played fullback on the football team. After graduating from high school, he proudly served in the United States Army.
Cornell loved sports. Growing up in the Princess Anne Plaza area, he played baseball, basketball, and football throughout his youth. He was an avid Washington Redskins/Commanders fan, always wearing his Redskins hat wherever he went.
Cornell leaves behind to cherish his memories his brother, Warren Keith Hughes (Tracey); three children, Danielle Maddox (Tremaine), Chris Hughes, and Madison Hughes; four grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Jaden, Sophia, and Tolliver; three nieces, Tiffany Ming, Candace Hughes, and Simone Hughes; and a host of cousins and friends.
