Albert E. Miles Sr., lovingly known as “Sweet pea”, passed away on November 3, 2024 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was predeceased by his mother Mary E. Miles and 3 siblings. He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Miles; daughter; Tamla Albritton (Columbus); son, Albert Miles, Jr. (Kim); daughter, Tirisha Preyor (Kenny); daughter, Demetress Olds; son, Joseph White; 9 siblings; 9 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren and other family members and friends.
Sweet pea was known and loved throughout the Hampton Roads area. Once you mentioned the name Miles, it was always followed by, “Are you related to Sweet pea?”; whether it was from back in the day when he “boxed” or when he used those same hands to build, it was definitely a connection.
Some may not have known about his love for reading, especially books centered around black culture, but he was well known for his love of reggae music blasting from his TV and stereo. With his toothpick in his mouth and the rhythmic tapping of his foot, you knew he was in his happy place.
From Old Road to Seatack, he will be greatly missed.
