Alma Harold passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. Born on February 5, 1946, she was known for her loving, loyal spirit and deep devotion to family and faith. She excelled academically, graduating with honors from Crestwood High School and earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Hampton University and later a Master of Arts degree, also from Hampton University.
A licensed speech-language pathologist, Alma dedicated her career to education, serving Portsmouth Public Schools and later Norfolk State University as an Instructor of Speech and Language. She retired in 2013 after a distinguished and impactful career and received numerous professional honors.
A devoted member of the United House of Prayer for All People, Alma served faithfully in many roles, including teacher, usher, choir member, and scholarship board member. Above all, she was a steadfast woman of faith and prayer, remembered for her strength, devotion, and the lasting legacy she leaves with her family, church, and community.
