Remembering Evangelist Arlene T. Cornick
Evangelist Arlene T. Cornick was born on July 18, 1958, in Virginia Beach, VA to the late Elder William O. Cornick Sr. and Missionary Lillie A. Cornick. She was educated by the Virginia Beach Public School System and graduated from First Colonial High School. She attended Tidewater Community College and Norfolk State University. She received a Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree as well as a Master of Theology Degree from North Carolina College of Theology.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and began walking in her calling as a Missionary/Evangelist at St. Stephens C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Elder Thurlian Burden and the late Bishop Ted G. Thomas. She also served as an Usher, Choir Member and a member of the Finance Department. In her travels she attended the following Churches and served in various capacities such as Church Mother, Auxiliary President, Member of W.I.N.G.S. Outreach Ministry and Prayer Warrior: Flames of Fire(VA) , Church of God(MD), Greenville Community Christian Church(NC), Body of Believers Outreach Ministries(VA).
Arlene was employed by the Department of Defense as a civilian. As an Accounting Technician she received top honors as Civilian of the Year in the NAVAIRES Norfolk Comptroller Office in 1991. She was later promoted as a Lead Budget Assistant. The remainder of her career was served at Bolling Air Force Base Washington DC. She retired after 30 years of service.
Her Legacy
Her selflessness touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion and goodwill. Her legacy includes her siblings, Bernice Forbes(William), Alice Waller(Harold), Wilhelmenia Gatlin(deceased), Marquetta King(Reginald), Cathalene Moore(Marco), William Cornick Jr.(Jane). Godchildren, Tawania Early, Andrea Ray, Michael Cornick, Bryan King, Janiah Gatlin. Bonus Daughter Chanay Clarke.
May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved deeply and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
