Barbara Ann Lewis, 73, was born on October 1, 1952 in Princess Anne County, now known as Virginia Beach Virginia, to the late James Lewis Sr. and Olivia Lewis.
She was raised and educated in the Chesapeake City school system.
Barbara Ann accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Campbell’s Chape AME Church. She loved singing with her brothers, the Lewis Singers; she later formed her own group, The Eternal Truths. Her favorite song was Oh Mary Don’t You Weep.
Barbara Ann was predeceased by her parents, sister Mary “Peaches” Harris, and brother William “Billy” Lewis.
She leaves to cherish fond memories one sister, Gloria Singleton; three brothers: James Lewis Jr. (Patricia), Johnnie Lewis (Lisa), twin brother Bobby Lewis (Martha); one aunt: Ethel Riddick Hall; her fiance John Ruffin; best friend Ruth Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
