Barbara A. Turner

Barbara Ann Avery Turner, 82, was called to eternal rest on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at her home in Smithfield, Virginia. She was born on June 29, 1942, to the late Stewart and Evelyn Avery in Meredithville, Virginia. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Philip C. Turner Sr. and her son, Reginald Gerard Turner.  Barbara is survived by her two children, Sheryl Ann Turner and Philip Cotton Turner, Jr. (Henrike); five grandchildren Kelvin Henley, Jr., Kijona Henley, Kelsy Henley, Maya Turner, and Miles Turner; two siblings Erwin Avery (Connie), Sadie Williams (Julius), as well as a host of extended family and friends. 
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Beach Funeral & Cremation Services 4456 Bonney Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23462, with the Ivy Beyond the Wall Service beginning at 7:00 pm.  A funeral service will be held for Barbara on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 12:00 noon at First Baptist Church, 418 E.
