Obituary For Beverly Anne Johnson
Beverly Anne Hoggard-Johnson was born on November 6, 1957, in the Creeds section of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Beverly Anne was the second child born to her loving parents, the late Cleon Dorson Hoggard Sr. and Lucille Sarah Johnson-Hoggard. On Saturday, November 1, 2025, she quietly completed this earthly journey of labor and entered heavenly rest at the direction of God, our Heavenly Father.
Beverly Anne was educated in the Virginia Beach Public School System. She graduated from First Colonial High School, where she displayed her athletic ability in track & field. After completing her high school education, she pursued business as a career. She obtained her Associate’s degree years later, while working her way through her early studies. Beverly Anne went on to have an over 35-year career a Business Operations Manager for a number of housing authorities and realty companies. She then moved into her role as a Front Office Manager for IAA’s Richmond Branch.
Beverly was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She absolutely cherished her grandchildren and took every opportunity to spend time with them. Her drive to learn helped her with her “do-it-yourself” hobbies from gardening, home improvement, art and cooking. Her business acumen and drive for her children to better themselves helped pave their academic and athletic careers. She was a mother to many of those that crossed her threshold and an advisor to many more due to her patience, kindness and acceptance. Many people in their life viewed her as another motherly figure.
Beverly leaves to cherish precious memories, 2 sons, Ira M. Williams Jr. and Donn Marquette Williams and one daughter, Vonita Ashey Williams - Lopez. ; daughters-in-law, Laura Williams and Corinne Harrison , son-in-law, Jose Lopez; six grandchildren, Amari Williams, McCoy Williams III, Mikaila King-Lopez, McKenzie Willaims, Alicia Williams and Mateo Lopez; siblings, Dr. Carolyn Williams (Pharoah), Cleon Dorson Hoggard Jr. (Caroline), Arleen Hoggard and Delois Etheridge (Vincent) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
We miss her now; our hearts are sore. As time goes by, we’ll miss her more. Her loving smile and gentle face, no one on earth can fill her place.
