Byron Amory Williams was born on July 26, 1955 to the late Jacqueline Edmondson and Edward Edmondson. On April 1, 2022, Byron transitioned into his eternal rest.
Although Byron was raised in Norfolk, VA, he was educated in the Virginia Beach Public School System. Byron furthered his education at Old Dominion University for two years where he studied Business Administration. For 38 years Byron worked at Virginia Beach Schools as a head custodian. He was also employed at Hall Auto. Byron's love for sports inspired him to coach basketball for young men. He was a comic book collector, a science explorer, and had a great love for all types of music and books.
Byron was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Edmondson; father, Charles Crawley; grandparents, James and Cordelia Williams of Virginia Beach, VA; and one brother, Willie Williams of New York, NY.
Byron leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Shirley Williams of Virginia Beach, VA; three sons, Clifton L. Woolard (Flossie "Cookie") of Norfolk, VA, Pastor Tony R. Woolard (Christina) of Chesapeake, VA; Andre C. Woolard of NC; two daughters, Dolly Dunn (Oliver) of NC; Marvette Woolard of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Apiffany and Rashad Quran of Norfolk, VA, Nigia Woolard of Virginia Beach, VA, AJ Cherry of Norfolk, VA, Eric Bailey of Orlando, FL; the man who raised him, Edward Edmondson of GA; stepmother, Delores Crawley of FL; siblings, Michael Williams of FL, Andrea Crawley of FL, Charles Crawley Jr., of Orlando, FL, Tanya Ginyard of New York, NY; uncle, Taylor Schofield (Josephine); special friends, Gary Keyser (Nancy Schofield) of Virginia Beach, VA, James Cowan of Norfolk, VA, Mike Slatter of Chesapeake, VA, Mr. and Mrs. Kippenbrock of Norfolk, VA; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
