Clara M. Blount

Our hearts were deeply saddened when the angel of death took away the life of our beloved sister and aunt. She slipped quietly away to Heaven without misery or pain on August 31, 2020 to her eternal home.

Clara Mae Blount,81, was born on December 13, 1938 as one of three sets of twins and one of 14 siblings to the late Nehemiah T. & Gladys Z. Blount in the Princess Anne County section of Virginia Beach, VA.

Clara was a graduate of Princess Anne County Training School.  She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church, Virginia Beach under the leadership of Dr. Thomasine Reid and she also sung in the choir. Clara loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. She was the caregiver and babysitter for many of her nieces, nephews and others. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Besides her parents, Clara was predeceased by her brothers, Eddie, Joseph, Major, Clifton, Nehemiah, Raymond, Bennie, Billie and Joshua; three sisters, Gladys, Helen and Bessie.  

Clara leaves to cherish memories of her wonderful life, one sister, Estelle McClenny; niece, Valerie Franklin (Marvin); sister-in-laws, Shirley Blount, Carol Blount; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
