Clarence Harold Obituary

On Sunday, May 30, 2021, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend departed from this life and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Clarence Nehemiah Harold was born July 15, 1934 in Princess Anne County to the late William and Ida Harold. He was one of eleven children.

Nehemiah, as he was affectionally called, was educated at Princess Anne County Training School and was employed as a warehouse manager at the Little Creek Navy Exchange for 39 years and took pride in having the “best run warehouse in history.” He married the love of his life, Ressie Mae Harold, on September 18, 1955 and from this union they had three children. They were married for 61 years until her passing in 2017. These two were the epitome of love and were truly inseparable. Our hearts are rejoicing knowing that he is reunited with his “Honey Bun” in heaven.

Elder Harold joined the United House of Prayer for All People – Burton at an early age. He was the first Youth Pastor and was a motivator for the Youth Department , a dedicated member of the Elder Board, served as the superintendent of Sunday School, served as Chairman, and created the Grace Soldiers in Burton in the late sixties.

Past Master Harold was a PHA Mason and held the following credentials: Past Master of Unity Lodge #93, Royal Arch Mason Cohesion Chapter #14, St. Thomas Grand Commandry #4, Alpha & Omega Consistory #9, Noble of Arabia Temple #12, and Past Patron of St. Alethia #83.

Well loved wherever he went, Nehemiah’s huge heart and compassionate spirit touched everyone he met. He never met a stranger, and you can guarantee that he would ask you your complete life story and would swear he knew someone in your family. There were no 5 minutes conversations with him so you knew to carve out AT LEAST 30 minutes every time you came in contact with him, whether in person or over the phone. We will hold dear to our hearts his lengthy prayers and grace so long you almost weren’t hungry anymore.

Treasuring his memory are his daughters Bonita Gregory and Wanda Atkinson (Robert); son Patrick Harold; grandchildren Rasheda Gregory, Robert Atkinson III (Jessica), Ciara Harold, and Bianca Harold; sister Joyce Walton, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
