Born on May 26, 1955, Clarissa Ann Smith was born to the late Hugh Willis Smith Sr. and Olivia Worsley Smith in Princess Anne County. Clarissa along with her mother and siblings moved to Philadelphia in the early sixties. Clarissa began a singing career in the 1970’s, she was introduced to various R&B singing groups out of Philadelphia and Baltimore by her brother Dwight Smith.
Clarissa was later employed by the law firm Coopers & Lybrand LLP as an Administrative Assistant in the 1980’s. She returned to Virginia Beach and later retired from the Virginia Beach City Public School System.
Clarissa Ann Smith passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025. She leaves to cherish many memories: Siblings- Hugh Willis Smith Jr. (Rosa Mae) (Virginia Beach), Audrey A. Valentin (Texas), Dwight K. Smith (Philadelphia), Theophilus A. Smith (Virginia Beach), Dorothy M. Smith (Philadelphia) and Rita Flowers (Bronx, New York). Goddaughter Aneesah Rines and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members, including her dear friends Keith Scott and Theresa Rines.
