On Sunday January 5, 2026, Clenton Darnell Smith 43, transitioned to be with the Lord and now rests in his Almighty presence.
Clenton or “Lil Cliff” was born on May 22, 1982, in Norfolk, Virginia to Tonya Smith and Clenton Baker. He attended Norfolk Public Schools and Germantown High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before obtaining his GED. Most recently, Clenton completed 15 years of employment with the Virginia Beach School Board as a supervisor.
A diehard Eagles fan, Clenton loved a good “Bird Game”. Although he enjoyed joking around with family “Lil Cliff” was serious about playing a game of dominoes. Known for being a “workaholic”, he also loved to cook.
Clenton is predeceased by his maternal Grandmother, Dorothy Mae Smith and his paternal grandparents, James and Marie Baker. He also mourned the loss of 4 aunts and 5 uncles.
To forever cherish his memories, Clenton a daughter Alazhia Peterson; granddaughter, A’ziyah Henson; grandson, Mor’Quann Henson; parents, Tonya Neville and Clenton Baker; siblings, Dalisha ”Lady” Smith, Alveeta “Veeda” Smith, Corey Smith, and Kennisha Smith-Langley. He will also be missed by six nieces, seven nephews, six great nieces, four great nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, and friends.
