Curtis B. Merriwether

Curtis Bernard Merriwther, 68, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Curtis was born on July 23, 1957, in Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Gordon “Cid” Merriwether and Corine H. Merriwether. He attended Virginia Beach City Public Schools and worked construction jobs throughout his adult years. Curtis was a member of St. Mark AME Church.

Besides his father, Curtis was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Richard Jones and Eva Dunn; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Gladys Merriwether; mother, Corine Merriwether; brother, Wayland Merriwether; and son, Curtis Merriwether.

Curtis’ memory will be cherished by his wife, Jacqueline Merriwether; his daughter, Ashley Merriwether; two sons, Terry Palmer and Darrell Palmer; two brothers, Stacy Merriwether (Fritzie) and Allen Creekmore; one sister, Andre Williams (John); three nieces, Chanel Turner, Alecsis Meekins (Tyler), and Kaelyn Merriwether; one nephew, Mason Merriwether; 19 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
