Darnell Miles, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 years old on September 23, 2025, while residing in Washington, D.C. in the District of Columbia. Darnell was born and raised in the City of Virginia Beach to the late Mary E. Miles.
He was preceded in death by Wife Tandaleyia Joanne Miles, his Mother Mary E. Miles and four siblings: Albert Eugene “Sweet Pea” Miles, Ernest “Buttercup” Miles, Mary Ann “Muggie” Dunn and Jackie Miles.
Darnell was born in a family of thirteen siblings, eight of whom are left to cherish his memory, along with one sister-in-law, two daughters, two son-in-law’s, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of relatives love ones family and friends.
Darnell was well known for his style of dress. Always sharp and well put together. He loved to Swing Dance. He loved cars and keeping them clean. In his younger days he loved to Box; in which he was skilled and trained by his first cousin the late Willis “Bark” Butts. Boxing taught him Discipline and Skills of using his hands.
His years of employment started with the City of Virginia Beach Refuge and Trash Collections. Later in life he worked as a skilled Painter with Carpentry and Restoration as his craft.
Darnell gracious smile and love for his family and friends will be greatly missed, but forever embedded and cherished in our hearts.
