Obituary
Darryl Tyrone Nichols was born on November 10, 1965 in Virginia Beach, Va to the late Earnestine Nichols and Percy Dozier. Darryl transitioned peacefully from this life on February 12, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family during the last moments of his life.
Darryl received his education in the Virginia Beach School system. He graduated from Bayside High School in 1984. He worked several years at Dam Neck Base before working for Virginia Beach School Board (Tallwood High). Darryl was an avid football fan of the New York Jets. He also loved listening to Rock and Roll music, although well versed in other genres of music. Always saying to people who enter his room “this the jam right here”. Darryl was a man of few words, nevertheless, he always had time for conversation with family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Martha Scutchings and Willie Nichols, his paternal grandparents; George and Ruth Dozier, his Aunts Paulette Lyle, Ollie Creecy, Betty Jean Nichols, Wanda Dozier. He leaves to cherish his brothers; Sylvester Nichols, Dondra Nichols (Tamara), Cedric Lyles, his sisters Jeanette Farrow (Stanley), Kathy Dozier, Cheryl White, his Aunts; Eula Nichols, Dedra Dozier and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and host of cousins. Darryl leaves three special friends/brothers; David Evans, Matthew Williams and Arnold Patterson and one special sister; Sherry Evans. Kindness to family and others was a character trait of his.
Darryl will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
