Dennison Willie Perry Jr.

April 11, 1948 ~ April 30, 2022 (age 74)

Obituary

On April 11, 1948, Dennison Willie Perry, Jr. was born to Dennison and Earlene Perry at home in Princess Anne County, Virginia.  He was raised by his parents, family and friends of the Seatack community where he is known as Willie Perry.

Willie attended Union Kempsville where he met and fell in love with Laverne Olivia.  They married on January 28, 1967 and were married for 55 years.  In early years, Willie was good with his hands so he worked as an auto mechanic at several car garages and gas stations like Sunoco and Texaco.  He moved into the warehouse and distribution industry and worked for Stihl, Inc. for 30 years before retiring in 2010.

Willie loved his family and friends and he had a thing for fishing and watching the Cowboys play. You can hear him say “How bout dem Boys?”.  He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of South Bay Hunting Club. He was always on the move and didn’t hesitate to help someone in need. He had a young, loving and giving spirit. On April 30, 2022 he left here to be with his wife.

Willie is predeceased in death by his wife, Laverne Perry, father Dennison (Dolly Boy) Perry, Sr., mother Earlene Perry-Hopper and sisters Annie (Pee-Wee) Perry and Lanae Perry.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his brothers, Roland "Lulu" Perry and Marlon "Moosie" Baker of Virginia Beach, VA; son, Kevin Perry (Tracie) of Virginia Beach; daughters, Angela Davis (Kenneth) of Virginia Beach, TruVenia "Tina" Newton of Rome, GA and Shavonne Fells (Frankie) of Portsmouth, VA; three granddaughters, Dabeon Davis of Virginia Beach, Kaila Perry of Portsmouth and Torace Booker of Rome, GA; two grandsons, Kenneth Davis, Jr., Nathaniel "Nate" Perry of Virginia Beach; three great-grandchildren, Kamilla Riddick and Medicus Riddick, IV of Portsmouth and Maddix Williams of Rome, GA; nephew Darvin "Von" Perry (Julia); nieces, Jerri Perry-Hall (Theodore), Terri "Pookie" Perry and Angela "Neci" Dilliard of Virginia Beach and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
