Doris Parker Obituary

Doris C. Parker, peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones.

Doris was born on July 17, 1940 in Moon, VA to the late Thomas and Virginia Copeland. She was the oldest of four girls. Doris and her family moved to Elizabeth City, NC where she graduated from Elizabeth City High School.

Later in life, Doris and her late husband, owned and managed the Carolina Theater, which was one of the only two theaters in that area.

After working at the theater, Doris began waitressing at the Marina Restaurant in Elizabeth City, with her daughter Angela. Them working together made every day at work a play day.

In 1985 Doris married Edward Lee Parker and she helped him to run his business, Parker’s Auto Parts store. After retirement, Doris took care of her only grandson, Aaron while her daughter was at work.

Doris was predeceased by one sister, Joyce Peacock.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Edward Lee Parker; daughter, Angela Dunkailo; grandson, Aaron Dunkailo; sisters, Faye Tarkington, Phyllis Dozier-Becker, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
