Dorothy Loretta Blount, 81, transitioned from this life on June 24, 2025, in the comfort of her home God dispatched an angel to her bedside, as we watched our loved one slip peacefully away to her eternal rest.
Dorothy was born on January 14, 1944, in Virginia Beach. She was predeceased by her spouse, Clifton Blount, her parents, Roy and Sarah Ferebee Jones; four siblings, Dianne D. Ferebee, James E. Ferebee, Minister Ronnie D. Ferebee and Juanita E. Owens.
Dorothy attended Union Kempsville High School. After 25 years of service, she retired from Best Products and later with the Virginian Pilot after 5 years of service.
She was a member of the Saint James Missionary Church where she enjoyed working with the Hospitality Ministry and the Day Care Ministry.
She is survived by three (3) Children: Patricia Jorden, Lisa Richardson, and LaToya Sanderson (Raleigh); five grandchildren, Travis Blount, Amisha Wilson (Willie), Julius Richardson, Malcolm Jorden, Diontre Jorden; eleven great grandchildren, Trinity Jorden, Londyn Jorden, Kamille Jorden, Aubrey Jorden, Joziah Blount, Jyllyan Blount, Kayden Blount, Taviyahe Blount, Amaleyiah Blount, Jaceon Wilson and Amiye Richardson. Dorothy also leaves behind one brother, Roy Ferebee (Judith); five sisters, Gloria Singleton, Sarah (Pat) Ferebee, Phyllis Winslow (Charles), Joyce Lang (Barry), Arlene Ferebee; twelve nieces, eight nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
