On the eve of Thursday, November 18, 2021, the angels descended and carried Dorothy Denise Sanderson home to be with the Lord. The Lord saw that the work was getting too hard and said come home my child, your work on earth is done.
Dorothy affectionately known as “Niecy”, was born on August 7, 1957, to the late Quinton and Dorothy Sanderson. She attended Union Kempsville High School. She accepted Christ as her Lord and savior at an early age at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Dorothy worked for many years with the Virginia Beach school system.
Dorothy loved to cook for her family and friends and would often have cookouts and family gatherings so that family and friends could have fun and spend time together. Family was everything to Dorothy. She was always willing to lend a helping hand when she could. Dorothy was a loving caring person that you could not help but love.
Dorothy’s love knew no bounds, her children and grandchildren were her heart, there was nothing she would not do for them. Dorothy shared her love with anyone in need. Dorothy also held a special place in her heart for: Patricia, Dennis, Victoria, Nadia, Paris, and Kierra whom she loved as though they were her own.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her two brothers, Wallace Goodman and Theodore Sanderson.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, her two sons, Ron Dricho and Bryant Anthony Sanderson; three beloved grandchildren, Kingston Dricho, Knightlee Amor, and Kardizen Gray Silvis; two brothers, Quinton A. and James H. Sanderson; sister, Regina M. Owens; two sisters-in-law, Angie Sanderson, Stephanie Goodman; two aunts, Elizabeth Davis, Beulah Wilson; uncle, Jessie Goodman; Kate Silvis who was like a daughter to her, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
“Although she is gone the evidence of her love remains forever.”
