Elaine Battle Speight

Elaine Battle Speight, 75, was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 29, 1945 to the late James & Hattie Battle. This loving mother, grandmother and friend departed this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Lake Taylor Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia.

Elaine was educated in the North Carolina public school system and worked at Virginia Beach General Hospital. One thing you can say about Elaine is that she always had your back. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, playing bingo, cards, and dominoes. Her most enjoyable time was spending time with her family and friends.

Besides her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband, James Henry Speight, Sr.; children, Melvin, Oneil; sisters, Bertha, Mary, Kathaleen; in-laws, Edward, Larrine, Robert, Raymond, Debbie and good friend, Bootsie.

Elaine leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Jimmy, Chris, Deloris; a baby sister who she truly loved, Maxine (William); in-laws, Annette, Cearful, Mary, Minnie; best friend, Corine Merriweather; a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
