Florence Celestine Broady of the 3500 Sierra Arch passed February 17, 2024. Born in Callao, Virginia, Florence was Senior Pastor, CEO and Founder of The Oasis Ministries. She was the of Pastor Saint Paul Holiness Church in Callao, Virginia near Tappahannock, Pastor Broady was an exemplary spiritual leader in the South Hampton Roads area for more than 40 years and has provided a solid foundation for the transformation of three ministries including overseeing property improvements and renovations for Christ. Oasis Ministries, Inc. is a duly registered nonprofit entity in the Commonwealth of Virginia that was established to provide spiritual, educational, charitable and humanitarian functions in the community. She also was Senior pastor of Foundation Church in the Pungo section of Virginia Beach, Va. She graduated from Virginia State University.
Survivors include her (two sisters), Ernestyne Forbes, Bertha Harris; (four brothers), James Garfield Thompson Jr., Harold Thompson, Dalton Thompson, Muriel Thompson; (daughter), Vicky James; (three grandchildren), Marlena James, Bryce McCrary, McKenzie McCrary; (one son), David P. Broady Jr.; (grandson), Byron Broady and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her (parents), James Garfield Thompson and Mollie Brooks Thompson; (siblings), Gladys Watkins, Lola Bryant, Cherry Thompson, Lawrence Thompson, Charles Thompson, and Michael Thompson.
