Born on October 31, 1966, in Massachusetts, Eric's journey through life was marked by an unwavering spirit of generosity, a selfless heart, and a sense of humor that could light up the darkest of rooms. He was a beloved husband, a cherished step-father, and a devoted brother.

Eric's life was one of service and dedication. A proud veteran of the US Navy, he carried the values of honor and commitment through every aspect of his life. His time in the military was not just a chapter of duty but the forging of a lifelong identity that would define his character and his relationships.

Beyond his service, Eric found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid RVer, a passion that allowed him to explore the vastness of the open road and revel in the beauty of nature. Music was also a source of solace and delight for Eric; it was not uncommon to find him lost in the melodies of his favorite songs.

Those who knew Eric were the fortunate recipients of his generosity. He gave without expectation and loved without reservation. Eric is survived by his loving wife, Crystal Steinhoff, who stood by his side as a partner and best friend. He was a guiding presence in the lives of his step-sons, Nicholaus Lueck and Liam Powell, whom he loved as his own. He is also survived by his sister, Karin Heustess (Tim), his niece, Allie Ford, step-mother, Edie Steinhoff, and step-siblings, Clayton Wrobel and Sharon Wrobel.
