Erica Nicole Bynum slipped away peacefully on October 25, 2023. Erica fought until the end of her wonderful life. Erica Nicole Bynum was born on February 26, 1984 in the city of Norfolk, Virginia. Erica N. Bynum was educated in the Norfolk Public School system. Later she went to Vo-Tech for child development. Her first job was at Below’s Supermarket, then Kids Town Child Care Center.
Having a sweet tooth Erica was employed with Rowena’s Bakery in the Ghent area of Norfolk, Virginia. Erica was employed with Washington Inventory Services in the cities of Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Her last employment was with Public Partnership, where she was the PCA for Terell McMickle for over 7 years, and Velma Lofton for four months.
Erica N. Bynum, accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Horace S. Allen, Jr. She was an active member in the Choir, Usher, Hospitality, and some secretarial duties. In 2013 her father was called to Pastor First Baptist Church Money Point Chesapeake, Virginia. Where she became a member and continued to work in the house of the Lord! Erica loved to travel to many states and countries. She was so happy and vibrant. She met many friends along the way of her wonderful Journey. Erica was a member of Adeline ward No. 197 Order of the Eastern Star, Grand chapter of Virginia, PHA Arabia Court No. 23 Imperial Court Daughters, PHA.
Erica was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, the late Mr. Samuel and Katie Linyear.
Erica N. Bynum leaves to cherish her memory her only son, Cameron Anthony Taylor Bynum of Norfolk, Virginia; parents, Pastor James R. Bynum, Jr. and Andanita Bynum; siblings, Lakesha Powell (Hot Springs, CA), Dante Linyear, Bryant Bynum, Kimberly Scott (Bruce) and James Bynum III (Kaila); paternal grandparents, James R. Bynum, Sr. and Gloria Lee Bynum; maternal grandmother, Lucielle Faulks (Beaufort, SC); a host of nieces and nephews, Armonie, Masen, Malik, Destini, Sabastian, Mariah and Jaiden; an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends who will miss her dearly. Erica leaves behind special close friends Melody Speed and Bryon Lawrence. Erica also leaves behind her special God father Frederick Boone.
