Florence Tyler

Florence Elizabeth Tyler, 80, peacefully entered into eternal rest and departed to her home in Glory on April 3, 2020.

She was born on May 28, 1939 in Henderson, NC to the late Archie & Delia Lewis. Florence graduated from Union Kempsville High School and completed two years at the Technical College of Virginia. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for many years where she was a member of the choir, Sensational Seniors and Senior Noonday Bible Study. Florence loved cooking, Bible study, puzzles and was known for her jokes, riddles and songs to make others smile.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Henry Tyler, Sr.; son, James Henry Tyler, Jr.; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Johns; sisters, Evelyn Frazier and Anne Pearson.

Florence leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Carlton Tyler; niece, Angelia Abadeey; grandchildren, Tony Uzzle, Jasmine Uzzle, Amoree’ Uzzle, Milan Rhodes; nephews, Donald Rhodes, Daniel Rhodes, Samuel Simmons; nieces, Karen Simmons, Dr. Lisa Simmons-Moore, Lois Simmons; great nephews, Dennis Gregory, DeQuan Gregory; special friends, Dr. Vinson of Sentara Virginia Beach General, Rosa Gatlin, Mary Perkins, Shirley Cherry and a host of other relatives and friends.
