Geannette Wright Spellman, 67, transitioned from this life on February 5, 2021 in Birmingham, Alabama surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on June 21, 1953 to the late James Wright & Frances Gordon in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Geannette spent her latter 20+ years being a resident of Birmingham, Alabama. Even though, she was a resident there her home has always been Virginia Beach where she was a graduate of First Colonial High School. Soon after graduation she continued her education by attending Phillip Business College. Additionally, she was a Dietary Aide and a supervisor with Howard Johnsons.
Geannette loved sports and her favorite team was Alabama Crimson Tide football. She also enjoyed reading books, playing apps on her phone and playing games. Last but not least, she loved the Lord and her ministry included messaging family and friends with inspirational quotes every morning.
Geannette is predeceased by her father, James Wright; mother, Frances Gordon; stepmother, Dorothy Wright; and brother, Rickey Wright.
Geannette leaves to cherish her precious memories, three children, Vernette Wright, Vincent Wright, and Melvin (Quan) Wright; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two siblings, Michael Wright (Cheryl), Sterling Johnson (Ex-wife, Linda); her former husband, Cleveland Spellman; aunts, Lucille and Gertrude (oldest living); uncle Russell Jackson; and numerous amount of other relative and friends who loved her dearly
