It is with great sadness that Geneva quietly and peacefully transitioned to eternal rest. She was a devoted wife to the late Clement Harold, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Geneva passed away in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on April 30, 2026, leaving a void in the hearts of her family that cannot be filled.
Geneva was born in Norfolk County on January 5, 1937, to the late Eddie and Geneva Lundy. She attended high school at St. Joseph Church and Catholic School in Norfolk VA. Afterwards she completed training at Norfolk State University in sewing and cashiering. She ended her training at Norfolk General Hospital where she became a nurse’s assistant for over eight years.
Geneva accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church located in Norfolk, Virginia for decades before her death.
Geneva was more than a wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, neighbor, and caregiver—she was the heart and soul of every gathering. Whether at family celebrations or in the simple moments when someone stopped by to visit, she brought a special kind of warmth that made everyone feel welcome. With her infectious smile and laughter, she had a gift for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary ones, and her joyful, often humorous spirit was the spark that lit up every room she entered.
Geneva leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children Eugenia Lee (Nathan) of Suffolk, VA, Jacqueline Harold Wilson (Cornell) of Fredericksburg, VA, Carl L. Harold of Norfolk, VA, and Norma Parsons (Pernal) of Flint, MI; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Geneva also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
