Celebration of Life for
Mrs. Geneva Wragg
In Loving Memory of Geneva Wragg
December 21, 1950 – November 11, 2025
Geneva Wragg, a cherished wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at the age of 74.
Born on December 21, 1950, in Phenix City, Alabama to the late John Henry and Hattie Lou Lewis. Geneva lived a life marked by compassion, service, and unwavering love for her family. She is immediately survived by her sisters; Beatrice Roper and her husband John Roper, Anne Ruth Lewis, and Brother Richard “Jerry” Lewis. She is also survived by her devoted husband, Bernard Wragg of forty-four years, her sisters-in-law, Diane Fletcher and Tamika “Kisha” Sellers, her close friends that were like sisters; Carmeta, Joanie, and Joyce and their five children: oldest son Darnell and his wife Rochelle, Shaquey and her significant other Brandon, Diannce, Wahkel, and Rahgice. Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren—Alexis, Dominic, Sanaa, Azia, Julien, and most recently Danica—and three great-grandchildren: Abel, Nicholas, and Natalya, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. And a host of family and friends that she loved very dearly.
Geneva dedicated much of her life to serving others. She contributed meaningfully to the community through her work with Civil Service, where her diligence and warmth left a lasting impression. Later, she served the City of Virginia Beach Public Schools, working in the cafeteria where she nourished not only students’ bodies but their spirits—always offering kind words and a smile. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she shared it generously as a teacher at Children Church at Mount Bethel Baptist Church, guiding young hearts with wisdom and grace.
Outside of her professional and spiritual commitments, Geneva found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved children, music, and traveling to visit her family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Her love for children led to her fostering and adopting children. Thrift store shopping was one of her favorite pastimes, especially when accompanied by her husband, children, and grandchildren—those outings were filled with laughter, storytelling, and the thrill of finding hidden treasures.
Geneva Wragg will be remembered for her gentle strength, her generous heart, and the way she made everyone feel seen and loved. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she nurtured with unwavering devotion.
A celebration of Geneva’s life will be held at Mount Bethel Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship flourished. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in her honor to St Jude’s, CHKD, and any local foster care programs—causes close to Geneva’s heart.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
