Brother George R. Ford was born on May 2, 1955 in Franklin, VA to the late Mr. Robert Artis and Lula Saunder. He attended Booker T. Washington High School and North Carolina State University. After his studies, George Enlisted in the United States Airforce and served his country until retirement. Later he was employed by Stihl Industries.
As a member of the United House of Prayer, Brother George enjoyed the band music and preaching the word of God. Throughout his life, fishing, cooking, music and sports were the hobbies that he loved most. However, being a Philadelphia Eagle fan was his greatest love.
Besides his parents, George was predeceased by one sister, Teressa Taylor.
George leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife, Renee H. Ford; sons, Michael Ford, Danielle Shaw; daughters, Karma Ford, Kimberly Steward (Jerry), Donzella Overton, Ticely Harrell, Ebony Harrell; siblings, Tony Saunder (Joy), Troy Saunder (Tiffany), Angela Branch, Jonathan Artis, Jennifer Artis; brother-in-law, Vandarrow Harrell; sister-in-law, Elaine Richardson; special friends, Thomas Bell, Jerry Steward; and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends.
