James (Big Jim) Martin Maloney, 86, passed away at Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital on May 30, 2025. Jim was Born February 17, 1939, in Boston, Massachusetts.
He served the United States Navy from 1958 through 1977. He retired and moved to Florida, where he became a fishing guide. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and sitting around a campfire telling stories. He later came back to Virginia and reunited with his children.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Linda A. Maloney; mother and father, Marie, and John Maloney; brothers, William, John, Thomas, and Brian Maloney; sons, Johnny and Jimmy Maloney.
Left to cherish his memory: sister, Kathleen Maloney, brother, Joseph Maloney; daughters, Marie Miller, Patty Bedrosian, Kathy Stone (Rick), Kim Ballance (Buddy), Billy Maloney (Amy), and Joe; friend, Joan Crank. He had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the number of care providers at Lake Taylor, especially in the Camila section. They provided wonderful care and friendship to our dad, for several years.
