James Everette Parker, 54, transitioned from this life on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Sentara Leigh Hospital. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on May 31, 1966 to Michael and Beatrice Brown. Although, he was born in Portsmouth, VA, he was raised in Virginia Beach, VA, where he obtained his general education diploma.
He proudly worked for the Department of Public Utilities for the City of Virginia Beach for over 20 years. James loved listening to music and being a DJ for events. He enjoyed watching sports, and was a diehard fan for the Washington football team. James also loved to cook and spend time with family and friends. He was a kind, well known, loving gentle giant and was liked by all he came in contact with.
James was predeceased by his grandmothers, Okie Johniken & Louise B. Horn; uncles, Bernard & Rosavelt Parker; aunts, Gladys Riddick & Laura Debrough.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Latevin Harris of Virginia Beach, VA; parents, Michael & Beatrice Brown of Virginia Beach, VA; siblings, Anita L. Johnson (Brian) of Jacksonville, NC, Leonard Parker (Kelly) of Chesapeake, VA, & Nikita N. Parker of Virginia Beach, VA; aunts, Stacy Mccabe (Ronnie) of Jacksonville, FL & Sherly Hayward (Mel) of Charleston, SC; four nieces; three nephews; four great-nieces; one great-nephew; special friends, Verna Harris-Peebles, Alessia D. Harris, Sa’mya A. Peebles, Alaya I. Elliot “Babygirl”; & a host of cousin’s and close friends.
