James E. Wright

James Edward Wright, 78, transitioned from this life on June 3, 2021. He was born in Princess Anne County, currently known as Virginia Beach, VA on October 25, 1942, to the late Dennis Wright and Lillie Mae Dozier Wright.

James attended Princess Anne Training School and graduated from Union Kempsville High School in 1961. He attended Campbell’s Chapel AME Church in his early years and rededicated his life to the Lord in his later years. James was an avid member of the Laborers International Union of North America. He was employed with Scott Rug Cleaner & Restoration and worked there for many years. James was known for being a very stylish dresser, and he always knew what to wear. James loved to eat sweet potato & apple pie and most of all spend time with his family and friends. He also, enjoyed watching football and his favorite team was the Washington Redskins. 

Besides his parents, James was predeceased by his son, James Wood and his brother, Roy Wright.

James leaves to cherish his memories his grandchildren, James Kelley, Jamel Kelley, Marquese Melvin, and Dionte Gray; cousins, Barbara Davis, Sidney Davis, Dorothy James, and Shepard James; special little cousin, Jayvon Morton “His Buddy”; his caregivers, and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
