Jeanne Esther Goodwin, 52, was granted her Angel wings on June 14, 2018 in Virginia Beach, VA.
She was surrounded at home by her loving family after a long courageous battle with Stage IV Metastases Breast Cancer. Jeanne gave her battle to the Lord as she peacefully rested.
She was born on February 7, 1966 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Jeanne graduated from Ursuline High School, Youngstown, Ohio, Norfolk State University RN Nursing Program 2 ½ years, University of Wisconsin EdS, BA Science Degree Virginia Wesleyan College, MS Degree Virginia Tech, Grad Student Morgan State University pursuing her doctoral degree in Education.
Instructor Fortis College, Instructor Cooper Career Institute, Instructor Tidewater Tech, Instructor Computer Dynamics Institute, Director of Student Affairs, Co-Chairman Virginia Collegiate Honors Council, Dance Team Coach PAHS, Motivational Speaker, Certified EMT, CPR Instructor, Owner/CEO Nail & Massage Salon “Genies Touch”, Director of Business Affairs, Juvenile Justice DNA Coordinator, Writer & Composer of Music. Her passion was Music and Education and she was an adamant believer in the Power of the Mind.
Her magical spirit touched the lives of others which allowed “The Jeanne” to grant so many wishes by strengthening and empowering the minds of everyone seeking her perspective and guidance. She challenged the impossible and believed in the inevitable by speaking with wisdom, and faithful instructions. Jeanne faced all challenges as an opportunity to battle the odds. Her actions and thoughts were consistently virtuous. Grace and Mercy granted Jeanne’s wish…One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. Psalms 27:4 “HAYA” – (means Life)
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Ricki Kirkland (Tim), granddaughter Jordan Kirkland, mother, Jeannette E. Goodwin, father late Eugene Goodwin, brother Darrell J. Goodwin Sr. (Crystal), and sister Ineiceola Goodwin. She also leaves behind a host of loving and caring relatives and friends.
