John Owen Perry, “Johnny Boy”, “God found the perfect fish in the ocean and floated him into eternal rest.“
On Friday, November 3, 2023, “Johnny Boy” after a brief illness answered the call from our Heavenly Father and entered into eternal rest. He was born on January 12, 1933, in Warrenton, North Carolina, to the late Fannie Turner and Zollie Thomas Perry Sr.
He was predeceased by his wife, Pearlie Mae Perry; siblings, Esther Edward, Sarah Bibbins, Mildred, Amos, William, Robert, and Zollie Thomas Perry Jr.
“Johnny Boy,” affectionally known, worked at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center, for over 40 years. After retirement, he continued working various jobs before officially retiring. The simple things in life were a gift to him, especially his love for God, his family, fishing, grandchildren, great grandchildren, listening to “Oldies But Goodies.” All of these were his idea of a perfect life. He was known for his kind, gentle disposition, very seldom raising his voice in anger. He was a loving husband and a good provider for his family. His memory will long remain and will be missed by all.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Denise, Gale, Mary, Tina, Robert, Roy, Rickey, Johnny; siblings, Geraldine Perry Jackson (Quarlie), Barbara A. Perry, Isaac Perry (Diane), Dr. James Perry (Marion) all of North Carolina; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
