On September 29, 2021, we lost our treasured rebel and patriarch, John Williams, Jr. at the age of 74. He was affectionately known as “Razz” by his close family and friends.
John was born on March 22, 1947, and was the eldest child born to John B. Sr. and Mary R. Williams. John was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Queens on Jamaica Avenue.
When he was a young man, John enlisted in the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam war. After serving three years, he was honorably discharged and was hired by the US Postal service.
Razz was a loving husband for 31 years to the late Laurie Williams. Later in life, he remarried Dorothy Williams to whom he was a loving husband for seven years until her passing in June of this year.
John “Razz” Williams, Jr. leaves to cherish his fond memories, his three children, Ahmed Jamal Williams, Cheyenne Williams, Charisma Williams; four bonus children, Rashida Cololough, Patrick Penniston, Amber Penniston, Shana Tucker; 25 grandchildren, Charissa, Toya, Ahmad Jr., Tiffany, Jasmine, Shanequa, Kason, Angie, Tyrie, Divine, Dauavon, Brandon, Chayim, Yosiah, Ariyahu, Hadassah, TiAsia, Fallyn, Samarri, Khalil, Esean, Patrick, Diamond, Kiera, Genesis.
His legacy of kindness, humor and originality will be celebrated by the host of family and friends that he leaves behind to mourn.
