Keelyn Harold Boler Bailey was born on July 22, 2007, in Merrillville, Indiana. He was the firstborn of three children and deeply loved by his devoted parents, Octavius and Jessica Bailey. Affectionately known as “Kee,” Keelyn was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He had a heart full of love for his family and friends, and that love was felt by everyone who knew him.
Keelyn began his academic journey in the Portage, IN school system, where he thrived and consistently made the "A" honor roll. He later moved to Virginia Beach, VA, where he continued his education through high school. During that time, he became active in school life—joining the Young Life school club and competing on the wrestling team. Keelyn was proudly working toward graduating with the Class of 2025.
At an early age, Keelyn accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized. He was a member of Calvary Revival Church, always seeking to grow closer to God. He was never afraid to ask deep, thoughtful questions in his pursuit of a stronger relationship with God.
Keelyn was known for his fun-loving personality, infectious laughter, and remarkable sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and had a natural ability to brighten any room, lifting the spirits of those around him. He had a passion for playing video games, watching action movies and anime, creating music, and enjoying good food, with Chinese food being one of his favorites. He was incredibly creative and had a special talent for drawing. Keelyn dreamed of going to college to play football and major in Business, while also pursuing his passions of starting a clothing line and making music once he graduated high school.
Keelyn received his wings on April 15, 2025. He is preceded in death by his great- grandparents, Robert and Mary Boler; his grandfather, Robert Bailey; and his great-aunts, Loretta Boler-Ford and Lonie Ruth Patrick.
To cherish his memory he leaves behind his loving parents, Octavius and Jessica Bailey; his younger brother, Kamryn Bailey; and his sister, Mackenzie Bailey, all of Virginia Beach, VA. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Donna Allen of Charleston, MO, and Andrea Bailey of Norfolk, VA; five aunts, Robyn (Roniqca) Mitchell, Kiara Allen of Charleston, MO, Rodonna Allen of Sikeston, MO, Almetria Bailey of Norfolk, VA, and Dawn Williams of Bloomington, IL; one uncle, Dereon Allen of Charleston, MO; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends—including one of his closest friend who was like a brother to him, Anthony Hawkins.
Keelyn brought light, laughter, and love to everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his radiant spirit, unshakable faith, and endless creativity. His impact on the lives around him was profound, and his memory will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him.
