Life Reflections

Kelvin Ray Leonard , was born on August 29, 1961 to Johnnie Lester and Nettie Mae Leonard.

Kelvin was educated in the Orlando Florida public school system and graduated from Jones High School in 1979. Right after graduation, he immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Kelvin was a Natural Born Leader and from the very inception of his career, he excelled and received opportunities that further enhanced his military career. Kelvin served 22 years of service before retiring as a Master Sergeant. While enlisted he received the following awards and accolades: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement  Medal (w/1star), Combat Action Ribbon (5 wars), Marine Corp Drill Instructor Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal (w2/stars), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Citation, and numerous letters of appreciation, and certificates of commendation.

Kelvin traveled the world living in Okinawa Japan, Australia, and Africa. His drive and motivation was not just for himself because he never knew a stranger, he offered his assistance to all who would receive his knowledge and expertise.

Kelvin known as “The Gentle Giant” “Hulk”, “The Master Trainer”, and “Top Dog”, inspired countless men and woman to become fit and adopt a lifestyle change to stay fit. His love for the gym and sports opened many doors. Training Brett Favre’s mother during hurricane Katrina was one of the highlights of his training career sparking a friendship with the Favre family.

Kelvin touched the lives of so many people, adults and children alike. His childlike faith kept him grounded in God’s word. He was a man who loved God. His spirit and genuine nature touched the lives of his Rehoboth Baptist Church family, adults and children alike, and he especially cherished the elderly.

Kelvin leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving wife of 13 years, Olympia Marie Leonard of Va. Beach, VA; children, Kelvin Ray Leonard Jr. of St. Augustine, FL, Kendra R. Leonard of Orlando, FL, Keva S. Leonard of Mobile AL; three grandsons, Justice, Jaden and Zion Leonard of Orlando, FL; two granddaughters, Essence and Serenity Leonard of Orlando, FL; two sisters,  Sandra L. Thompson and Gwendoline Leonard both of Orlando, FL; four Brothers, Gary, Johnnie, Lonnie and Jeffery Leonard all of Orlando, FL; a host of nieces of nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kelvin Ray Leonard you were a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather, a Brother, a Brother in-law, an Uncle, a Cousin, and a True Friend.
