Kermit Fabian Mitchell, 54, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.
Kermit was born September 21, 1966 in Back Bay County Va. Beach, Virginia. He was educated in the Virginia Beach public school system and graduated from the Floyd E. Kellam High School in 1984. He also had a street smart education. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Disciples of Christ and a former member of a singing group called, “The Brother’s in Christ.”
Kermit enjoyed singing, fishing, cooking, gardening, shopping, and being a comedian. In his free time he could be found coaching for a girls’ softball team called, “Creeds Angels.”
Kermit was predeceased by his son, Devin K. Gross; father, William K. Mitchell; brother, Kevin J. Mitchell; grandparents, William H. & Nettie Mitchell, Jeremiah Sr. & Eula Williams; brother-in-laws, Roderick Jernigan and Jasper Little.
Kermit’s memory will be cherished by his wife, Sheila M. Mitchell; children, Shaila M. Mitchell, Shayna M. Mustafa (Harun); grandchild, Jalil Oba-Fabian Mustafa; mother, Georgia Mae Mitchell; siblings, Mary A. Little (Jasper), Janice Beckles (Charles), Cheryl J. Mitchell, Kimberly D. Jernigan (Roderick), Shenean L. Mitchell; special friends, family and other survivors that he dearly loved.
