Kim Mitchell-Putman, daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth Mitchell, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 28, 2021 in Virginia Beach.
She was born October 16, 1964 in Newark, NJ. Her family moved to Rahway at a very young age where she graduated from Rahway High School. She continued her education at Kean College in Union, NJ.
Kim was a dedicated Executive Assistant, serving over 17 years for the City of Virginia Beach, 13 of which were spent with the Department of Public Works. She took great care of her team and was always there in times of need.
Kim met the love of her life, Robert aka “Bee”, July 1, 1979 in the Bronx, NY. Kim and Bee were married March 18, 1989 and shared over 32 years loving each other and their family. They moved their family to Virginia Beach in 2001. Through their union they were blessed with a daughter, Kaiya. Kim was also blessed with 3 bonus children, Charmaine, Robert and Alexandria.
Kim leaves to cherish her amazing memory her husband Robert, her children, Kaiya, Charmaine, Robert Jr. and Alexandrea Lee (Matthew), her sister Monica, her brothers Joseph Mitchell Jr., Quintin Felton (Maria) and Chauncey Hill, her brother-in-law Edwin Putman Jr., her grandchildren Jesiah and Robert III and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Kim was a beautiful woman who loved the Lord. She had a lively and vibrant spirit and her personality lit up any room she entered. She was loved dearly by her family, both immediate and extended, and will be greatly missed by all.
