Laura Willette Graves, 76, of Virginia Beach, VA was born on April 6, 1948, in concord, NC. She transitioned peacefully to her appointed place in heaven on January 10th 2025, surrounded by her family. Laura was born in Concord, NC to James Courtney and Hattie Lee Wilkerson. She graduated third. in her class from Aggrey Memorial High School in 1966. Laura moved to New York City where she started her banking career as a teller. While living in New York, she met and married her first husband Anthony Daniels and from their union, they bore two children.
Laura eventually moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia where she continued her career in banking, retiring as a Regional Vice President of Operations from SunTrust Bank. Some years later, Laura met and remarried her new love William "Bill" Graves. Laura joined Heritage United Methodist Church and was an active steward in the Women of Falth group. She assisted with the food pantry, prepared church audits, and was God-appointed to be a care giver for a church friend. Laura, affectionately called "Diva" by many of her friends and family, was a fashlonista, who was full of life and laughter. She enjoyed shopping, taking cruises, and playing BINGO and Pokeno. Laura touched many lives through her acts of kindness and willingness to help anyone. She had an infectious laugh with a tell it like It Is spirit. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Laura was predeceased by her parents James and Hattie Wilkerson, her first husband, Anthony Daniels, and her brother James Wilkerson.
She leaves lasting memories to cherish for her husband William Graves from Virginia Beach, VA; daughter Sonya Daniels-Murray (Latasha) from Chesapeake, VA; son Bryan Daniels (Gail) from Virginia Beach, VA; brothers Bennie Wilkerson (Joyce) and Bobby Wilkerson (Kay) both from Virginia Beach, VA; Vickie Griffith (Arnold) from Kannapolis, NC; twin sister Antinette Wilson from Ellenwood, GA. Bonus children: Curtis Daniels (Sandra) from Suffolk, VA; Deborah Daniels-Peacock (Kevin) from Poconos, PA; William Graves III (Vernice) from Virginia Beach, VA; Alicia Graves from Virginia Beach, VA.; Goddaughters Camarie Rogers and Coryn Clark from Virginia Beach, VA; 16 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews
