On April 19, 2025, Lequiae "Keshia" Truitt-Richardson peacefully entered eternal rest, embraced by the love of God and the legacy she leaves behind.
Born on July 3, 1984, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Lemech Truitt Sr. and Ethel Hill, Keshia was a bright light from the very beginning. She was raised between Philadelphia and Virginia Beach, where she was educated in the public school systems. A proud graduate of Bayside High School, she was not only a student but also a leader— helping to found the Sisters of Alpha Omega, a sisterhood rooted in strength, unity, and purpose.
After high school, Keshia met the love of her life, Michael Richardson. The two were joined in marriage on November 28, 2005, and built a life full of laughter, commitment, and family. Together, they were blessed with their beloved son, Keshuan Truitt-Richardson, and Keshia lovingly embraced her bonus daughter, Ny'Azyah Richardson, as her own.
Keshia was preceded in death by her father, Lemech Truitt Sr., and her grandparents, Leon & Doris Truitt and Eddie & Norma Hill. She is survived by her devoted husband of 19 years, Michael Richardson; her children, Keshuan and Ny'Azyah; grandson Noah; her mother and stepfather, Ethel and Darryl "Pop-T" Blocker; her brothers, Lemech Truitt Jr. and Tyler Brockenbrough; her sister Malika Truitt; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and countless friends who were touched by her vibrant spirit and boundless love.
To know Keshia was to love her. Her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering kindness made her a cherished presence in the lives of all who had the joy of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will live on in the hearts she touched.
