Levona Perrie Sharpe, 64, entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2021. He was born on January 10, 1957, to the late Jacob and Idella Sharpe in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
When he was a young man, his family moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia and Levona graduated from First Colonial High School. For a brief period, Levona worked as a Pipe Insulator for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a skilled butcher who worked for over 40 years and retired from Miller Meat Market, Newport News, VA after 15 years of working there. Levona was an upbeat person who loved happy times. After his retirement, he enjoyed his leisure time by playing Bingo. He was an avid football fan, and the NY Giants was his favorite team.
Besides his parents, Levona was predeceased by three siblings, Ervin Sharpe, Gracie Barber and Roger Sharpe.
Levona leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife, Roshell Sharpe; daughter, Jane “Niecy” McCoy; grandchildren, Ariana, Triana, Jordan, Jahmer; brother, Casmirr Sharp and a host of nieces and nephews.
