Maria Ann Griffey

Maria Ann Griffey, 67, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, a devoted daughter, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Born on June 22, 1958, in Virginia Beach, she was one of seven children blessed to Mildred Price Linsangan and the late Joaquin Linsangan.

 Maria dedicated many years of her life to caring for others, beginning her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant before later bringing warmth and leadership to a career in retail management. Maria had the ability to make everyone laugh.  She was unapologetically herself and she had no filter.  With her generous spirit, she would give her last to make sure everyone else was taken care of.

Maria leaves to fondly cherish her memories: her children Crystal Spithaler, Diana Griffey, and Steffan Griffey; three grandchildren; Arianna Appleton, Bradyn Griffey, and Aiden Wesch; her mother Mildred Linsangan; six siblings; Jacqueline Nichols, Tony Linsangan, Joaquin Linsangan, Jr., Linda Ocampo, Paul Linsangan, and Dory Linsangan.  Maria also leaves a host of other family and close friends.  Her loving spirit will truly be missed by all.
