Maxine H. Collick
My sunrise was on August 7, 1938, in Scotland Neck, North Carolina to the late Richard Jones and Eva Dunn. As a young woman, I relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia. I loved the Lord and he heard my cry, so in 1966, I joined St Mark AME Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I was employed as a housekeeper for many years at the Belvedere Hotel on Atlantic Avenue.
Besides my parents, I was predeceased by one grandson, Kevon Collick; my dearest sister and best friend, Corine Collick; one nephew, Wayland “Fookie” Merriwether; one dear friend, Juanita Platt; and most of my extended family.
I leave to continue my legacy and cherish our memories together, one son, Daniel Hannon (Thelma) of Richmond, Virginia; three daughters, Debbie Latham, Pat Collick, and Michelle Gallop all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandchildren, Dominique Mayfield, Keaosha Hannon, Ke’Chelle Collick, Donny Braxton, William Collick, and Jalyn Gallop; four great grandchildren, Zack Forbes, Zyah Forbes, Dominique, Mayfield, and Keith Mayfield; one great great grandchild; two nephews, Curtis Merriwether (Jackie) and Stacy Merriwether (Fritzie); great niece, Chanel Turner; one Goddaughter, Latricia Chavis; two dear friends, Babe Epps and Maxine (Battle) Cornick; and a host of family and friends.
