Melissa A. Landrum

Melissa Ann Boyd-Landrum, a cherished beacon of strength and compassion, passed away on August 25, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on January 2, 1962, in Saginaw, Michigan.

She was the beloved daughter of Ethel Lindsay and Roosevelt Boyd and brought joy and light into the world.

Melissa was a graduate of Saginaw High School, MI. Her professional journey led her to Va. Beach General Hospital, where she served in administration for 15 years. Melissa's later became an Assistant Scheduling Supervisor for Gastroenterology for over 22 years.

Melissa's treasured pastimes offered her laughter, conversations and enjoyment of the simple joys of nature. She loved walking with her family and friends, riding her bike, watching basketball and football. She was a member of Turning Point Church in Virginia Beach, under the leadership of Pastor Heartsville “Bones” Reynolds. She was leader over hospitality, and an Usher.

Her family was a cornerstone of her life, providing love, support, and countless cherished memories that they will hold dear forever. Melissa was predeceased by her father, Roosevelt Boyd and brother, Jabbar Lindsay.

She leaves to cherish her greatest joys, her children, Makeya Landrum, Monique Landrum; grandchildren, Tayshann Stroman, Amya Stroman; parents Ethel Lindsay, Roosevelt Boyd; siblings, James Boyd Jr. (Sharon), Debra Boyd-Coleman (Michael), Darren Lindsay (Sheryl), Anthony Lindsay; lifetime partner, Ronnie Felton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
